Cyclodextrin Polymers and Cyclodextrin-Containing Polysaccharides for Water Remediation

چکیده

Chemical pollution of water has raised great concerns among citizens, lawmakers, and nearly all manufacturing industries. As the legislation addressing liquid effluents becomes more stringent, companies are increasingly scrutinized for their environmental performance. In this context, emergent contaminants represent a major challenge, remediation bodies wastewater demands alternative sorbent materials. One most promising adsorbing materials micropolluted environments involves cyclodextrin (CD) polymers cyclodextrin-containing polysaccharides. Although cyclodextrins water-soluble and, thus, unusable as adsorbents in aqueous media, they can be feasibly polymerized by using different crosslinkers such epichlorohydrin, polycarboxylic acids, glutaraldehyde. Likewise, with those coupling agents or after substituting hydroxyl groups reactive moieties, units covalently attached to pre-existing polysaccharide. direction, functionalization chitosan, cellulose, carboxymethyl other carbohydrate CDs is vastly found literature. For system containing used purposes, there benefits from synergy that arises (i) ability CD interact selectively broad spectrum molecules, forming inclusion complexes higher-order supramolecular assemblies, (ii) functional crosslinker comonomers, (iii) three-dimensional structure crosslinked network, and/or (iv) intrinsic characteristics polysaccharide backbone. view recent contributions regarding CD-based copolymers CD-containing polysaccharides, review discusses performance environments, well interaction patterns, influence structural physicochemical properties functionalization.

The Effect of Water Soluble Polymers on Felodipine Aqueous Solubility and Complexing Abilities with Natural and Modified β-Cyclodextrin

Purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the presence of the water soluble polymers viz HPMC, PVP and PEG 6000 on aqueous solubility and complexation abilities of felodipine with or without presence of β-cyclodextrin (βCD) and HPβCD by phase solubility studies. The data revealed the initial increase in drug solubility followed by plateau in t...

Formulation of Modified Microspheres Based on Cyclodextrin-Lactic Acid Polymers

Polymers, based on Poly L-lactic acid (L-PLA) and coupled with β-Cyclodextrin (β-CD), have been used for the preparation of microspheres for drug encapsulation. The strategy was based on the modification of the terminal carboxylic group of L-PLA (73.000) by coupling it with a β-CD in the presence of the peptide coupling agents: DCC/HOBT. The degree of functionalisation was found to be 80%. Char...
